MAMMALS

As Senior Producer in the Creative Team at BBC Studios, I led the digital production of all campaign assets for Mammals, a landmark series narrated by Sir David Attenborough. This included paid ads, influencer collaborations, and digital partnerships, bringing the show’s stories to life across multiple platforms.

Client: BBC Studios

Podcast Partnership

I developed and pitched this special Mammals episode with High Performance Podcast, linking the show’s tagline—‘Secrets to Success’—to the incredible achievements of mammals in the wild and the high performance of the crew behind the series. Featuring Executive Producer Robert Webb and Assistant Producer Harry Lawrence, this global podcast (the UK’s second most-listened-to sports podcast) brought Mammals to a whole new audience.

Behind The Scenes

Capturing hyenas in the dark is no easy feat. In this behind-the-scenes video, Assistant Producer Harry Lawrence breaks down the challenges of filming these elusive predators at night. I identified Harry as a strong on-camera presence and produced the edit, sourcing unused footage from Mammals to bring the story to life. Working with an editor, I adapted the video for social formats, broadcast, and iPlayer, ensuring it reached audiences across all platforms.

Sam Cotton

As part of our influencer activity for Mammals, we collaborated with Australian animator Sam Cotton to create a comedy skit featuring the show’s footage of pikas. The result was a hilarious vertical short that resonated with audiences, racking up over 1.5 million views across his channels.

3D Key Art

As part of the paid ads strategy for Mammals, a key priority was reaching audiences in Asian markets. I worked closely with teams in China to deliver a suite of paid assets optimised for regional platforms like WeChat. We brought the show’s key art to life using 3D models, which were then integrated into dynamic in-situ ads on WeChat, ensuring maximum impact.

Paid Ads

Another ad format for Mammals was the ‘3D reveal’ ads, where animals—like the humpback whales featured here—appeared to break out of the screen, creating an eye-catching bumper for short-form ads. I collaborated with a motion designer to develop a series of these, enhancing engagement across digital platforms.

Vertical Shorts

We created over 25 vertical shorts for BBC Earth, reimagining key scenes from Mammals into fun, educational, and easily digestible content. One standout post featured the star-nosed mole (seen here), which captivated audiences and gained over 1 million views. These reworked moments helped bring the series to new audiences, optimising footage for engaging, short-form storytelling across digital platforms.
